The Ministry of Labour in Oman has announced that the country will observe its National Day holiday in 2026 on Wednesday, November 25, and Thursday, November 26. This two-day holiday will allow citizens and residents to enjoy an extended break as it leads into the weekend.
The announcement was part of the official schedule of national and religious holidays for 2026, aimed at helping both public and private sector organizations plan their activities and work schedules in advance. National Day in Oman is marked with various events and activities across the country’s governorates, celebrating the nation’s heritage, culture, and national identity.
In addition to the National Day holiday, other significant dates were included in the 2026 holiday schedule. These include the Sultan’s Accession Day on January 15, Al Isra’a Wal Mi’raj on January 18, the Hijri New Year on June 18, and the Prophet Muhammad’s Birthday on August 27. The dates for the Islamic festivals of Eid Al Fitr and Eid Al Adha will be announced later, contingent on official lunar observations marking the beginning of the Hijri months.
Oman’s National Day is a significant occasion, and the advance holiday schedule is expected to facilitate better planning for organizations and individuals alike, ensuring that the celebrations are both well-organized and widely accessible.
