Oman and India have reaffirmed their strategic partnership with a focus on enhancing cooperation in key sectors such as trade, investment, energy, and maritime security. This commitment was underscored during a recent meeting in Muscat between Oman’s Foreign Minister, Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, and India’s External Affairs Minister, Dr. S. Jaishankar. A significant portion of the dialogue also centered around regional and international developments, particularly concerning the security of maritime navigation through the Strait of Hormuz. The ministers discussed how regional tensions might influence international trade, energy supplies, and the global supply chain. The Strait of Hormuz is a critical passageway for global oil shipments, making its security a priority for both nations.
