Oman and Tanzania are actively seeking to enhance their trade and investment relations, with both countries exploring new business partnerships and opportunities for growth. A delegation from Oman’s Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion recently conducted meetings with Tanzanian government officials, economic institutions, and members of the local business community to discuss the potential for expanding economic ties.
The discussions centered on identifying investment opportunities and fostering private-sector partnerships. Ibtisam Ahmed Al Farooji, Undersecretary of the ministry for Investment Promotion, highlighted Tanzania’s significance as an economic partner in East Africa and expressed Oman’s interest in boosting cooperation in areas with substantial investment potential.
During the meetings, the Omani delegation emphasized their country’s strategic location, robust infrastructure, and investment incentives, such as the Golden Residency Programme, which are designed to attract international investors and support long-term business collaborations. The discussions also included ways for Omani companies to extend their presence in African markets and for Tanzanian businesses to connect with investment prospects in Oman.
Both sides agreed on the importance of strengthening communication between government bodies and private-sector representatives to facilitate the development of joint projects. This visit is a part of Oman’s broader strategy to expand its economic partnerships across Africa and to build on its longstanding relationship with Tanzania.
